US Stock Futures Down Ahead Data Release
US stock futures declined in the morning as investors are awaiting the long queue of reports that are to be released today. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 3 points to 15,248.00 and S&P 500 index futures sank 2.90 points to 1,567.20. Nasdaq 100 futures slipped 4.25 points to 2,816.75.
Futures went down yesterday. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 13 points to 15,178.00 and S&P 500 index futures slipped 1 point to 1,655.40. Nasdaq 100 futures lost 0.75 points to 2,996.25.
Data on Consumer Price Index will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the Housing Starts Report at 8:30 a.m. ET, as well. The Jobless Claims report will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET, while data on Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. The Philadelphia Fed Survey report will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET and the EIA Natural GAs Report will be released at 10:30 a.m. ET. The 3-Month, 6-Month Bill Announcement along with the 10-Yr TIPS Announcement will take place at 11:00 a.m. ET. The FED Balance Sheet and Money Supply Report will be released at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Wall Street expects Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) to report its Q1 earnings at $1.51 per share on revenue of $116.42 billion. Wal-Mart Stores stocks closed at $79.86 yesterday.
Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) reported better fiscal third-quarter results released after the closing bell on Wednesday. The company shares closed $21.21 yesterday.
Kohl's Corp. (NYSE: KSS) to report its Q1 earnings at $0.17 per share on revenue of $4.29 billion. Kohl's shares finishing at $49.68 yesterday.
Jack in the Box (NASDAQ: JACK) reported a lowered profits result for the company's Q2 earnings report. Jack in the Box shares closed at $38.33 yesterday.
Analysts expects Nordstrom Inc. (NYSE: JWN) to report its Q1 earnings at $0.76 per share on revenue of $2.80 billion. Nordstrom stocks closed at $61.44, yesterday.
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 00.14%, London's FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.10%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.27% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.19%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.39%, China's Shanghai Composite climbing1.21% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.56%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rising 0.17% and India's Sensex climbing 0.29%.
