Aeterna Zentaris Announces Election of Directors at its Annual Meeting of Shareholders

announces the results of the vote on directors held earlier today at its annual meeting of shareholders. Issuers listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange are required to issue a news release providing this information. Each of the director nominees proposed by management for election was elected as director, without a vote by ballot being conducted. As announced by the Company on April 15, 2013, Mr. Dodd succeeded to Prof. Engel as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Dodd was also concurrently appointed to the Board of Directors. At the same time, the Company announced that Mr. Dodd would be one of the management director nominees for election at the Company's annual meeting of shareholders and that Management proxy holders intended to exercise the discretion granted in the proxies to vote in favour of the election of Mr. Dodd as a director at the shareholders' meeting. All other matters at the shareholders' meeting, namely the renewal of and amendment to the Company's Stock Option Plan, the reconfirmation and approval of the Shareholder Rights Plan and the confirmation of an amendment to the Company's bylaws, were also approved by shareholders.
