announced today that Matthew R. Pollak has been named vice president, treasurer and chief accounting officer. Pollak also serves in these same positions with State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company and State Auto Property & Casualty Insurance Company. Pollak joins State Auto with more than 25 years experience in both public accounting and the property and casualty insurance industry, most recently as vice president, corporate finance and accounting at American Safety Insurance Service Inc. in Atlanta. “The breadth and depth of Matt's experience is exactly what State Auto needs at this point in our 92-year history,” said State Auto President, Chairman and CEO Bob Restrepo. “Matt has spent nearly his entire career in the property and casualty insurance sector, in mutual insurance companies and specialty insurance holding companies. He's built accounting and finance departments from the ground up and successfully integrated major acquisitions. His leadership and deep knowledge of our industry will be an excellent addition to our team.” Pollak earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
