US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of Housing Data
US stock futures are lower this morning, as investors are awaiting housing data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 19 points to 14,376.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1 point to 1,545.40. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.50 points to 2,783.50.
US stocks closed lower on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.43% to 14,452.06, the S&P 500 index falling 0.55% to 1,552.10 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.35% to 3,237.59.
The Federal Open Market Committee will begin a two-day meeting today. The ICSC-Goldman Sachs store sales index will be released at 7:45 a.m. ET, while housing starts data for February will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index will be released at 8:55 a.m. ET.
Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA) reported that its CEO, John Riccitiello, is stepping down.
Skullcandy (NASDAQ: SKUL) named Hoby Darling as its President and Chief Executive Officer.
DSW (NYSE: DSW) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.72 per share on revenue of $601.88 million. FactSet Research Systems (NYSE: FDS) is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $1.11 per share on revenue of $213.31 million. AAR (NYSE: AIR) is expected to post its Q3 earnings at $0.43 per share on revenue of $517.02 million.
Cintas (NASDAQ: CTAS) is estimated to post its Q3 earnings at $0.61 per share on revenue of $1.06 billion. Adobe Systems (NASDAQ: ADBE) is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.31 per share on revenue of $986.00 million. Williams-Sonoma (NYSE: WSM) is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $1.29 per share on revenue of $1.40 billion.
Francesca's Holdings (NASDAQ: FRAN) is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.30 per share on revenue of $84.92 million. Walter Investment Management (NYSE: WAC) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.68 per share on revenue of $166.80 million. Star Bulk Carriers (NASDAQ: SBLK) is estimated to post a Q4 loss at $0.61 per share on revenue of $16.85 million.
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.36%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.34%, French CAC 40 Index fell 0.80% and German DAX 30 index declined 0.50%.
Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 2.03%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.78% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 tumbling 0.46%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 0.19% and India's Sensex tumbled 1.48%.
Gold futures dropped 0.19% to trade at $1,601.60 an ounce.
The ICE dollar index (DXY) gained 0.18% to trade at 82.81.
