WellCare Health Plans, Inc.
WCG today
announced that the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has
approved WellCare of Florida to expand its Staywell Medicaid managed care
services. The expansion adds 25 new counties to the company's service area and
positions WellCare as the only Medicaid managed care provider offering plans
in all 67 Florida counties.
"WellCare has been committed to serving the health care needs of Floridians
for nearly 28 years," said Chrissie Cooper, president of WellCare's Florida
and Hawaii Division. "We serve more Florida Medicaid members than any other
health plan, a responsibility that we take very seriously, and we look forward
to helping even more individuals and families access the quality care and
services they need to improve their health and enhance their lives."
WellCare's Florida Medicaid services are provided through the company's
Staywell and HealthEase plans. The company's statewide Medicaid expansion has
broadened its reach to include counties that participate in Florida's Medicaid
Reform Pilot as well as counties that previously did not offer a Medicaid
managed care option.
