Sales at General Motors Co (NYSE: GM) and its joint ventures in China surged 11% y/y to 2.84 million vehicles in China in 2012.

Sales at GM and its joint venture with Shanghai's SAIC Motor gained 11% to 1.33 million units and sales at its joint venture with FAW Group climbed 12% to 1.45 million units.

Sales at SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co dropped 0.9% to 55,609 units.

GM shares fell 0.09% to $30.33 in after-hours trading.
