US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting housing starts data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 34 points to 13,311.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 2.90 points to 1,444.10. Nasdaq 100 futures climbed 10 points to 2,711.50.
US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.87% to 13,350.96, the S&P 500 index rising 1.15% to 1,446.79 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 1.46% to 3,054.53.
Data on housing starts for November will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 2.39%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.01% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.49%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.57% and India's Sensex climbed 0.57%.
The dollar index dropped 0.23% to trade at 79.13, down from 79.349 in North American trade late Tuesday.
