US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of New-Home Sales Data

US stock futures are slightly lower this morning, as investors are awaiting new-home sales data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 11 points to 12,851.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 2.10 points to 1,395.30. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.25 points to 2,638.00. US stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.69% to 12,878.13, the S&P 500 index falling 0.52% to 1,398.94 and the Nasdaq 100 index declining 0.30% to 2,967.79. Data on new-home sales for October will be released at 10 a.m. ET. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to release its Beige Book report at 2:00 p.m. ET. American Eagle Outfitters

The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.27%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.26%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.36% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.15%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 1.22%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.89% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 falling 0.24%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.62%. Crude-oil futures for January delivery dropped $0.40 to trade at $86.78 a barrel.
