US Stock Futures Up Ahead Of Economic Data
US stock futures are higher this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 47 points to 12,617.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 6 points to 1,365.80. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 12 points to 2,545.00.
US stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.37% to 12,588.31, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.48% to 1,359.88 and the Nasdaq 100 index jumping 0.57% to 2,853.13.
Data on existing home sales for October and the NAHB's housing market index for November will be released at 10 a.m. ET.
Lowe's Companies (NYSE: LOW) is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.35 per share on revenue of $11.91 billion. Agilent Technologies (NYSE: A) is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $0.80 per share on revenue of $1.76 billion. Brocade Communications Systems (NASDAQ: BRCD) is projected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.14 on revenue of $566.58 million.
Urban Outfitters (NASDAQ: URBN) is projected to post its Q3 earnings at $0.41 per share on revenue of $692.38 million. Jack in the Box (NASDAQ: JACK) is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $0.37 on revenue of $488.79 million.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (NYSE: KKD) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.08 on revenue of $104.56 million. Tyson Foods (NYSE: TSN) is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $0.44 per share on revenue of $8.49 billion. Shoe Carnival (NASDAQ: SCVL) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.58 on revenue of $242.49 million.
Franklin Resources (NYSE: BEN) announced a special cash dividend of $3.00 per share.
Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) announced its plans to buy Meraki for $1.2 billion.
European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 1.03%, London's FTSE 100 Index climbed 1.01%, French CAC 40 Index gained 1.30% and German DAX 30 index surged 1.32%.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.43%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.11% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.52%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index surged 0.49% India's Sensex rose 0.16%.
Nymex crude-oil futures climbed $1.97 to trade at $87.84 a barrel in electronic trade.
The dollar index dropped 0.2% to trade at 81.03.
