Obama Wins New York, Michigan, Romney Adds Another Six States
President Obama has been declared the winner in Michigan and New York, two reliably Democratic states. Republican challenger Mitt Romney has been declared the winner in Kansas, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
Romney is also the projected winner of four of five electoral votes in Nebraska. Maine and Nebraska split electoral votes based on congressional district lines. Romney's wins in the aforementioned states is not surprising given that Texas and North Dakota are the two largest oil-producing states in the nation and Wyoming is a major coal producer.
