A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are higher this morning after Hurricane Sandy closed trading for two days. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 52 points to 13,106.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 9 points to 1,416.60. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 11.50 points to 2,670.50.

European markets were mostly higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index climbed 0.22%, London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.13%, French CAC 40 Index gained 0.35% and German DAX 30 index rose 0.65%. Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.98%, China's Shanghai Composite gaining 0.32% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.66%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index surged 1% and India's Sensex gained 0.40%.

Analysts at Piper Jaffray upgraded Team Health Holdings

from “neutral” to “overweight.” The target price for Team Health has been raised from $27 to $30. Team Health shares closed at $25.60 on Friday.
