Con Ed Reports 452K Customers in New York City Without Power in Aftermath of Sandy

Con Edison

reported early this morning that 452,000 customers had lost power in New York City. An additional 158,000 were without power in Westchester County to the north of NYC. A Con Ed representative could not provide an estimated time for restoration of power, but indicated it could take several days. He indicated the company was hiring contractors to do the job and was working on it a full force.
