US stock futures are lower this morning. Hurricane Sandy is likely to hit the East Coast late Monday. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 97 points to 12,957.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 10.20 points to 1,397.40. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 22.50 points to 2,636.50.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.68%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.71%, French CAC 40 Index declined 1.02% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.77%. Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.04%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.35% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rising 0.07%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 0.16% and India's Sensex gained 0.06%.
Broker Recommendation
Analysts at Deutsche Bank downgraded MetroPCS Communications
PCS
from “buy” to “hold.” The target price for MetroPCS has been lowered from $15 to $11. MetroPCS shares gained 0.29% to $10.62 in after-hours trading.
