US stock futures are lower this morning, after downbeat earnings from Apple

. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 94 points to 12,962.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 10.80 points to 1,397.40. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 13.75 points to 2,634.25.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.57%, London's FTSE 100 Index dropped 0.77%, French CAC 40 Index declined 0.47% and German DAX 30 index fell 0.44%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average falling 1.35%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 1.68% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropping 0.82%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index fell 1.21% and India's Sensex dipped 0.71%.

Analysts at Credit Suisse downgraded St. Jude Medical

from “outperform” to “neutral.” The target price for St. Jude Medical has been lowered from $45 to $43. St. Jude Medical shares gained 0.62% to $38.51 in after-hours trading.
