Kayne Anderson Energy Development Company Increases its Quarterly Distribution to $0.43 per Share for Q3 2012 and Announces NAV of $23.88 per Share as of August 31, 2012

Kayne Anderson Energy Development Company announced today a quarterly distribution of $0.43 per share for the quarter ended August 31, 2012. This distribution represents an increase of 4.9% from the prior quarter's distribution of $0.41 per share and an increase of 13.2% from the distribution for the quarter ended August 31, 2011. The Company also announced today its unaudited net asset value (NAV) of $248 million or $23.88 per share as of August 31, 2012, representing an increase of $1.20 per share (5.3%) from the Company's NAV of $22.68 per share as of May 31, 2012. The distribution will be payable on October 26, 2012 to common stockholders of record on October 17, 2012, with an ex-dividend date of October 15, 2012. It is anticipated that none of this distribution will be treated as a return of capital for tax purposes. The final determination of such amount will be made in early 2013 when the Company can determine its earnings and profits.
