UPDATE: AZZ Posts Upbeat Q2 Results, Raises Full-Year Outlook

AZZ (NYSE: AZZ) reported upbeat second-quarter results and lifted its full-year forecast.

AZZ now projects 2013 adjusted earnings of $2.25 to $2.40 per share on revenue of $575 million to $600 million. The company had earlier expected earnings of $2.05 to $2.15 per share on revenue of $550 to $575 million.

AZZ's quarterly profit surged to $15.9 million, or $0.62 per share, versus $9.6 million, or $0.38 per share, in the year-ago period.

Its sales surged 33% to $153.4 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.52 per share on revenue of $146.1 million

AZZ shares jumped 12.51% to $39.11 in after-hours trading.
