Following the market opening Monday morning, the Dow Jones was down about 0.30 percent, or roughly 40.44 points. The NASDAQ fell about 0.65 percent, or 20.58 points, while the S&P traded down 0.38 percent, dropping 5.49 points.

TIVO rallied in early trading as well, rising 6.07 percent to $10.14 following the announcement that Verizon
VZ will pay Tivo $250.4 million as a settlement in the company's' patent infringement case.
Packaging Corp of America
also rose Monday, up 4.12 percent to $35.14 following an upgrade at BMO Capital Markets.
Questcor Pharmaceuticals
QCOR continued its slide Monday as shares plummeted 28.68 percent to $21.49 following downgrades at Piper Jaffray, Leerink Swann, Oppenheimer, and Ladenburg Thalmann.

In tech news, Google
GOOG crossed above the $740 line for the first time in its history.
In economic reports, the Chicago Fed National Activity Index came in at -0.87, below the -0.12 in July. The Dallas Fed Manufacturing survey came in at -0.9, better than the -2.7 that was expected.
