US Stock Futures, Nymex Crude Up
US stock futures are up Friday morning indicating to a higher Wall Street opening boosted by expectations of good demand for Apple Inc's (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone5 and speculations about Spain seeking a bailout soon. The Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 41 points or 0.3% to 13,556. The S&P 500 Index Futures gained 3.2 points to 1,457 while the Nasdaq-100 futures rose by 6.5 points to 2,859.75. In a sign of positive investor sentiment, US stocks closed slightly higher on Thursday with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising by 18.97 points or 0.14% to close at 13,596.93. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index declined marginally by 0.05% to 1,460.26. Similarly the Nasdaq composite Index declined by 0.21% to close at 3,175.96. The European equities rose on Friday with the Stoxx Europe 600 index rising 0.4% on Spain bailout talks. The Asian shares were higher with the telecom sector posting solid gains on the back of iPhone launch. The Nymex crude oil futures were up 64 cents to $93.06 a barrel in electronic trade while Gold futures gained $6.10 to $1,776.30 an ounce. The dollar index was lower by 0.4% at 79.069. While the euro advanced by 0.4% to $1.3030, the US dollar was steady vs the Japanese yen at ¥78.23.
