Honda Motor Co (NYSE: HM) reported a 15% rise in its China's sales in August.

Honda sold 57,003 vehicles in China through its two joint ventures in the month.

Sales at its joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co rose 20% to 26,958 cars in August, while its joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co sold 30,045 units, up 11% from a year-ago period.

In the January-August period, Honda's sales in China rose 17% y/y to 436,061 cars.

Honda shares fell 0.41% to close at $31.89 on Friday.
