More than 15 percent of consumers polled said that they will no longer buy Samsung products now that the company has been
found guilty of infringing on Apple's
AAPL patents.
The poll, which was conducted on the homepage of
Yahoo! Finance, asked, "Now that Samsung has lost the patent trial with Apple, would you buy its phones and tablets?" Yahoo!
provided voters with the following options:
- Yes, the ruling doesn't change my view of its products.
- No, it has changed my view on the brand and products.
- No, but for other reasons.
Thus far, more than 50,000 people have participated in the poll. At press time, 63 percent of voters (35,000) said that the ruling did not change their view of Samsung's products while sixteen percent (9,000) said that it had. Twenty-one percent (11,000) were not affected by the verdict but have decided not to buy Samsung products "for other reasons."
Those "other" reasons might involve the upcoming release of the iPhone 5, which is in

than the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S before they were released. It might also have something to do with Samsung's stock, which
plunged after the patent trial verdict.
The "other" vote could also represent Apple fans that participated in the poll but had no way of identifying themselves because only three questions were asked.
