US Stock Futures Higher Ahead Of Earnings
US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings reports. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 7 points to 13,074.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 0.90 points to 1,390.80. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 11.25 points to 2,697.75.
US stocks closed higher on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.16% to 13,117.51, the S&P 500 index rising 0.23% to 1,394.23 and the Nasdaq 100 index jumping 0.74% to 2,989.91.
Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP) is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $1.19 per share on revenue of $934.78 million. CVS Caremark (NYSE: CVS) is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.79 per share on revenue of $31.02 billion. priceline.com (NASDAQ: PCLN) is estimated to post its Q2 EPS at $7.37 on revenue of $1.35 billion.
Marsh & McLennan Companies (NYSE: MMC) is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $0.58 per share on revenue of $3.08 billion. Fossil (NASDAQ: FOSL) is expected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.78 on revenue of $634.86 million. Church & Dwight Co (NYSE: CHD) is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.55 per share on revenue of $702.2 million.
The Babcock & Wilcox Company (NYSE: BWC) is estimated to post its Q2 EPS at $0.42 on revenue of $821.85 million. Express Scripts Holding Company (NASDAQ: ESRX) is expected to post its Q2 EPS at $0.82 on revenue of $26.57 billion. Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) is projected to report a Q2 loss at $0.08 per share on revenue of $ 2.61 billion.
Pepco Holdings (NYSE: POM) is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $0.31 per share on revenue of $1.85 billion. SIRIUS XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) is expected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.02 on revenue of $834.38 million. Expeditors International of Washington (NASDAQ: EXPD) is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.43 per share on revenue of $1.59 billion.
Leap Wireless International (NASDAQ: LEAP) posted weaker-than-expected second-quarter results.
Caribou Coffee Company (NASDAQ: CBOU) reported a decline in its second-quarter profit and lowered its sales forecast.
European markets were mixed today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index fell 0.12%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.16%. London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.34% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.06%.
Asian markets ended higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 0.88%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.13% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.43%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index surged 0.37% and India's Sensex rose 1.08%.
Nymex crude-oil futures gained $0.03 to trade at $92.23 a barrel in electronic trade. However, gold futures climbed $0.80 to $1,617 an ounce.
The dollar index (DXY) dropped 0.16% to trade at 82.15. The euro gained 0.15% versus the dollar to trade at $1.2419.
The US dollar gained 0.06% against the Japanese yen to trade at 78.30 yen.
