Euro-Zone Economic Sentiment Index Drops To 87.9 In July
According to the European Commission, its economic sentiment indicator for the euro zone declined to 87.9 in July, versus 89.9 in June.
Economists were expecting a reading of 88.9. The consumer confidence index dropped to -21.5 in the month, versus -19.8. The industry sentiment index fell to -15.0, versus -12.8.
According to the Commission, services sentiment fell to -8.5, versus -7.4, while the retail index declined to -15.0, versus -14.4. However, the construction index dropped to -28.4, versus -28.1.
