Wave Systems Jumps over 20% on Deal with Samsung

Shares of digital security company Wave Systems Corp.

are seeing much strength during Tuesday's trading session after the company announced a 15-year deal with Samsung. On Tuesday, Wave Systems signed a 15-year Software License and Distribution Agreement with Samsung Electronic Co, Ltd permitting the distribution of Wave's Embassy Security Center and TCG Software Stack software technology with Samsung devices that include a Trusted Platform Module. Wave will receive a per-unit royalty based on Samsung's sales of products that are equipped with or include Wave's software technology. The contract does not provide for guaranteed minimum or maximum shipped quantities or royalties. Currently, shares of Wave Systems are trading up over 21% at $1.20 per share. Wave Systems develops, produces and markets products for hardware-based digital security, including security applications and services that are complementary to and work with the specifications of the Trusted Computing Group, an industry standards organization consisted of computer and device manufacturers, software vendors and other computing products manufacturers.
