Regal earned an unprecedented $42 million in gross admissions revenue beginning with a massive midnight audience that started gathering Thursday and continued throughout the weekend with a busy box office. “Regal was thrilled to host such a large and appreciative crowd this past weekend. ‘Marvel's The Avengers' is being well-received by both critics and our guests which leads to further interest in the film with great word-of-mouth advertising and a desire by many moviegoers to see it again,” stated Greg Dunn, President and COO of Regal Entertainment Group. “Regal's $42 million for ‘The Avengers' opening weekend is a tremendous start to an impressive slate of summer movies.”
