Shares of Crown Castle International Corp (NYSE: CCI) fell about 0.77% after the company announced that it is commencing a public offering of $1.0 billion of senior notes.
Shares of W.W. Grainger Inc (NYSE: GWW) gained about 0.2% after the company announced its plans to acquire AnFreixo S.A., a unit of Votorantim Group for an undisclosed sum. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Shares of Marsh & McLennan Cos (NYSE: MMC) fell about 1.1% after the company reported that it has bought Cosmos Services (America) Inc, the US insurance brokerage subsidiary of global trading firm ITOCHU Corporation (OTC: ITOCY). However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Shares of CME Group Inc (NASDAQ: CME) fell about 1.8% after the company reported a drop in its daily trading volume in March. CME Group's daily volume averaged 12.5 million contracts in March, a 13% decline versus March 2011 and 2% drop versus February. Its daily volume for interest-rate futures averaged 5.6 million contracts per day, a 15% decline versus a year-ago period and 5.8% versus February. For the first quarter, CME's trading volume averaged 12.3 million contracts per day, an 11% decline versus a year-ago period.
