US Stock Futures Flat Ahead Of Economic Data
US stock futures are flat this morning, as investors are awaiting economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 5 points to 12,940.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 1.10 points to 1,359.00. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 0.75 points to 2,590.25.
US stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average gaining 0.12% to 12,965.69, the S&P 500 index rising 0.07% to 1,362.21 and the Nasdaq 100 index dropping 0.11% to 2,948.57.
Data on existing home sales for January will be released at 10 a.m. ET.
Quanta Services Inc (NYSE: PWR) is expected to post its Q4 earnings at $0.34 per share on revenue of $1.39 billion. Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HPQ) is projected to post its Q1 EPS at $0.87 on revenue of $30.70 billion. Dollar Tree Inc (NASDAQ: DLTR) is projected to report its Q4 earnings at $1.58 per share on revenue of $1.93 billion. TJX Companies Inc (The) (NYSE: TJX) is expected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.62 on revenue of $6.72 billion.
Hertz Global Holdings Inc (NYSE: HTZ) is expected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.21 on revenue of $2.00 billion. Zale Corp (NYSE: ZLC) is projected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.77 per share on revenue of $657.4 million. Flowserve Corporation (NYSE: FLS) is estimated to post its Q4 EPS at $2.27 on revenue of $1.25 billion.
MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) is projected to post a Q4 loss at $0.20 per share on sales of $2.21 billion. Donaldson Co Inc (NYSE: DCI) is expected to report its FQ2 earnings at $0.71 per share on revenue of $603.6 million. Chico's FAS Inc (NYSE: CHS) is estimated to report its Q4 earnings at $0.11 per share on revenue of $547.2 million.
Dell Inc (NASDAQ: DELL) reported a FQ4 profit, excluding items, of $0.51 per share on revenue of $16.03 billion. However, analysts were projecting a profit of $0.52 per share on revenue of $15.97 billion.
Brocade Communications Systems Inc (NASDAQ: BRCD) reported upbeat quarterly results.
Private-sector activity across the euro zone declined in February, according to the preliminary Markit purchasing managers index for the region.
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped 0.74%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.36%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.37% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.87%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 0.96%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.93% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.09%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 0.33% and India's Sensex dipped 283 points.
April oil futures dropped $0.40 to $105.84 a barrel in electronic trade.
