A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are lower this morning, ahead of jobless claims data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 33 points to 12,730.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 4.70 points to 1,337.50. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.25 points to 2,554.25.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.68%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.73%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.60% and German DAX 30 index dropped 1.03%. Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average declining 0.24%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.42% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.62%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined 0.41% and India's Sensex fell 0.27%.

Analysts at Jefferies upgraded Expeditors International of Washington

from “hold” to “buy.” The target price for Expeditors International of Washington has been raised from $45 to $53. Expeditors International of Washington shares gained 0.45% to $42.67 in pre-market trading.
