A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings reports and retail-sales data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 13 points to 12,848.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 1.70 points to 1,350.80. Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 5.50 points to 2,573.25.

A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index rose 0.21%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.12%, French CAC 40 index rose 0.25% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.38%.

Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 0.59%, China's Shanghai Composite dropping 0.30% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.93%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.15% and India's Sensex rose 0.43%.

Broker Recommendation The Benchmark Company upgraded Rackspace Hosting Inc (NYSE: RAX) from “hold” to “buy.” The target price for Rackspace Hosting has been raised from $45 to $60.

Rackspace Hosting shares gained 7.86% to $53.10 in pre-market trading.
