Shares of General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) fell about 0.9% after the company reported an 8% y/y decline in its auto sales in China in January. GM sold 246,654 vehicles in China in the month.
Shares of Coinstar Inc (NASDAQ: CSTR) surged about 17.6% after the company reported its Q4 earnings from continuing operations at $31.5 million, or $1 per share, up from $11.7 million, or $0.68 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue surged to $520.5 million from $390.8 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.65 per share on $498.3 million in sales. Coinstar announced its plans to buy NCR Corp's DVD rental kiosks and other entertainment assets for up to $100 million.
Shares of Suffolk Bancorp (NASDAQ: SUBK) rose about 1% after the company appointed Brian K. Finneran as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of both Suffolk and its banking subsidiary, Suffolk County National Bank.
