Shares of LCA-Vision Inc (NASDAQ: LCAV) jumped about 25% after the company reported a 30% rise in fourth-quarter procedures. The company reported that 14,205 procedures were performed during the quarter, versus 10,891 procedures, in the year-ago quarter. Its same-store procedures surged 33% from 10,671 procedures during the fourth quarter of 2010.
Shares of Progress Software Corp (NASDAQ: PRGS) fell about 10% after the company reported a 45% drop in its fourth-quarter net income and issued weaker-than-expected forecast for the current quarter.
Shares of McDonald's Corp (NYSE: MCD) gained about 1% after the company lifted some menu prices in Hong Kong by an average of 2.3%. McDonald's China projects to double its number of restaurants to 2,000 by 2013. Last month, McDonald's reported a higher-than-expected rise in November sales at established restaurants across the board.
BBA Aviation PLC (OTC: BBAVY) reported that it has acquired Alabama airport operator Azalea Aviation for as much as $27.3 million. BBA also acquired 95% of flight services firm Arrindell Aviation for $7.8 million in cash.
