A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts
Pre-open movers US stock futures are higher this morning, as investors are awaiting the US Federal Reserve's announcement on monetary policy. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 59 points to 12,002.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 7.50 points to 1,236.80. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 12.25 points to 2,302.75.
A Peek Into Global Markets European markets were higher today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index gained 0.37%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.45%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.04% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.46%.
Asian markets ended mostly lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 1.1672%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.38% and China's Shanghai Composite declining 1.87%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.6917% and India's Sensex gained 0.83%.
Broker Recommendation Analysts at Deutsche Bank upgraded Marathon Oil Corp (NYSE: MRO) from “hold” to “buy.” The target price for Marathon Oil has been raised from $33 to $37.
Marathon Oil shares gained 0.37% to $27.42 in after-hours trading.
