Stocks Hitting 52-Week Highs

Pharmasset Inc (NASDAQ: VRUS) shares jumped 85.43% to create a new 52-week high of $134.75. Pharmasset agreed to be bought for $137 per share in cash by Gilead Sciences Inc (NASDAQ: GILD).

Global Education and Technology Group (NASDAQ: GEDU) shares gained 97.39% to touch a new 52-week high of $10.60. Pearson PLC (NYSE: PSO) has agreed to buy Global Education and Technology Group for $155 million in cash.

Inhibitex Inc (NASDAQ: INHX) shares rose 31.91% to create a new 52-week high of $11.78. INHX shares have jumped 302.25% over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has gained 1.49% in the same period.

Sonesta International Hotels Corp (NASDAQ: SNSTA) shares gained 1.50% to create a new 52-week high of $31.81. SNSTA swung to a net income of $938,000 in the quarter ended September 30, 2011, versus a net loss of $589,000, in the year-ago quarter.
