Finally, Some Positive Netflix News

Unfortunately, it's not what consumers were hoping for.

If you're a former Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) user hoping to save a few bucks on a reduced monthly rate, today's announcement might seem a tad weak. And if you're an investor looking for an excuse to dive back into the dying stock, you might be downright disappointed.

Netflix has released an updated Android app (via TechCrunch) that promises to provide a much more immersive video selection experience.

“In fact, the new interface displays twice as many movies and TV shows as before, enabling you to discover even more titles you'll love,” Zal Bilimoria, manager of mobile products, wrote on the Netflix blog. “Also, we've taken greater advantage of the tablet's unique features, inviting you to swipe through rows of titles featuring larger artwork.”

The iOS app will also be updated, but its release is still a few weeks away.

This may not be the most exciting news, but at least it wasn't bad news…right?
