US Stock Futures Down; Lowe's Q3 Profit Declines
US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 24 points to 12,088.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 5 points to 1,256.60. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 10.50 points to 2,339.75.
US stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 2.19% to 12,153.68, the S&P 500 index surging 1.85% to 1,263.85 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 2.04% to 2,678.75.
Lowe's Cos (NYSE: LOW) reported a decline in its Q3 net profit.
J.C. Penney Company Inc (NYSE: JCP) is expected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.09 on sales of $3.99 billion. Urban Outfitters Inc (NASDAQ: URBN) is estimated to report its Q3 EPS at $0.32 on revenue of $626.43 million. SORL Auto Parts Inc (NASDAQ: SORL) is projected to report its Q3 earnings at $0.18 per share on revenue of $45.5 million.
Dynegy Inc (NYSE: DYN) is estimated to report a Q3 loss of $0.33 per share on revenue of $602.4 million. HiSoft Technology International Ltd (NASDAQ: HSFT) is expected to report its Q3 EPS at $0.23 on revenue of $56.22 million.
European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.47%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.32%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.64% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.44%.
Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average rising 1.0480%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.24% and China's Shanghai Composite rising 1.92%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 1.9387% and India's Sensex dropped 0.43%.
The euro declined 0.72% versus the US dollar to trade at $1.3709, versus $1.3745 in North American trade late Friday. The dollar index (DXY) surged 0.24% to 77.10 from 76.947.
