President Obama Comments On Occupy Wall Street
President Barack Obama appears to be attempting to capitalize on the Occupy Wall Street movement, despite the fact that most of the protesters are beyond frustrated with the President. On Sunday, during a dedication to the new Martin Luther King memorial in Washington, Obama said that “Dr King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonising those who work there.”
It is clear that the President would like to use Occupy Wall Street as a catalyst for his 2012 re-election bid, but given the movement's anger towards both parties, and their anger towards Obama himself, this may not be easy. The President also has some pretty stark conflicts of interest seeing as how his 2008 campaign received massive donations from Wall Street.
