PetSmart Inc (NASDAQ: PETM) announced its plans to repurchase $450 million in company stock and lift its quarterly dividend to 14.5 cents per share, up from the current $0.12 per share. PETM shares dropped 0.14% to close at $43.39 on Friday.
Buckeye Technologies Inc (NYSE: BKI) announced its plans to close a Canadian manufacturing facility by the end of 2012. BKI shares gained 0.83% to close at $23.16 on Friday.
Renren Inc (NYSE: RENN) is expected to report its first-quarter results after the closing bell on Monday. RENN shares gained 0.43% to $7.06 in after-hours trading.
Silvercorp Metals Inc (NYSE: SVM) announced its plans to repurchase up to 5.7% of its outstanding shares from June 29, 2011 to June 28, 2012. The company plans to acquire up to 10 million shares of its common stock over the next year. SVM shares surged 2.84% to $8.33 in the after-hours trading session.
Shares of Research In Motion Limited (NASDAQ: RIMM) tumbled 21.45% to $27.75 in the regular trading session on Friday after the company lowered its earnings forecast for the year and announced its plans to cut an unspecified number of jobs. RIMM shares dropped another 0.04% to $27.74 in after-hours trading.
