Wall Street expects Genzyme Corp (NASDAQ: GENZ) to report its Q4 EPS at $0.86 on revenue of $1.17 billion. Sanofi-Aventis SA (NYSE: SNY) has agreed to purchase GENZ for around $20.1 billion in cash. SNY will pay $74 per share in cash plus a contingent value right (CVR) for Genzyme. GENZ shares gained 0.34% to $74.55 in after-hours trading, while SNY shares rose 1.01% to $34.84 in after-hours trading.
Analog Devices Inc (NYSE: ADI) reported its FQ1 net income at $222.1 million, or $0.72 per share, up from $120.5 million, or $0.40 per share, in the year-earlier period. The company's revenue increased 21% y/y to $728.5 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.65 per share on revenue of $729.2 million. ADI shares surged 1.22% to $41.50 in the after-hours trading session.
Analysts are expecting Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ: NVDA) to have earned $0.21 per share on revenue of $894.42 million in the fourth quarter. NVDA shares moved up 0.22% to $22.60 in after-hours trading.
Dell Inc (NASDAQ: DELL) reported its FQ4 profit at $927 million, or $0.48 per share, up from $334 million, or $0.17 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's revenue increased to $15.69 billion from $14.9 billion. The company's adjusted income came in at $0.53 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.36 per share on revenue of $15.75 billion. Dell projected revenue growth of 5% to 9% for its full fiscal year. However, analysts were expecting revenue growth of 5% for the same period. DELL shares jumped 5.75% to $14.71 in the after-hours trading session.
According to a regulatory filing late Tuesday, Trian Fund Management's head Nelson Peltz offered $55 to $60 per share in cash to acquire Family Dollar Stores Inc (NYSE: FDO). FDO shares advanced 25.91% to $55.35 in after-hours trading.
