Earlier today, Benzinga reported that
Skype – the online messaging tool co-owned by eBay
EBAY – was down for some users. Now it appears that the service is down for everyone, causing minor communication problems to general users and business professionals alike.
Many corporations use Skype as their primary form of communication both inside and outside of the office. But unlike the IM offerings from AOL Inc.
AOL and Yahoo! Inc.
YHOO, Skype also allows its users to make phone calls – a key feature that has made it the premiere messaging option.
As every minute passes with Skype no longer in play, you have to wonder how many people will consider moving to other options as either a temporary replacement or a permanent switch. Whatever the case, Skype needs to fix this problem quickly.
