Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) worked out a deal with Nu Image/Millennium Films to show movies before they are released on DVD when they would normally only be shown on pay-per-view or premium television channels, according to Business Times.
Netflix has done deals with sometime rival TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ: TIVO) to make movies available to consumers with TiVo recorders and Netflix accounts, for example.
Netflix did not disclose pricing for this deal, through which it licenses movies from Nu Image/Millennium Group, which makes films like “The Expendables” and “Black Dahlia.”
A film called “Son of No One” starring Channing Tatum and Al Pacino will be one of the first movies shown under the deal.
