January 06, 2010 6:58 PM
According to weather experts, 2010 could bring the worst winter in 25 years. States all across the U.S. could experience bitterly cold temperatures not seen since 1985. And it's not just a problem in the U.S., Europe and China are dealing with freezing temperatures as well.
Dennis Gartman joined the Fast Money team on Wednesday evening to explain his cold weather trade. Mr. Gartman thinks natural gas is the best way to play the weather and he is bullish on Pengrowth Energy Trust (NYSE: PGH), San Juan Basin Royalty Trust (NYSE: SJT), Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK), Devon Energy (NYSE: DVN), and Asia-Pacific Income Fund (AMEX: FAX).
Mr. Gartman also recommended coal stocks such as James River Coal (NASDAQ: JRCC) and Arch Coal (NYSE: ACI).
