Exxon (XOM), Noble Energy (NBL) & Transocean (RIG) Look Good, Says Phil Weiss

Crude oil appreciated 200% in the last 10 years. Speaking on CNBC, Argus Research Company’s senior energy analyst, Phil Weiss, gave his top three picks for the Year 2010.

He favored Exxon (NYSE: XOM) based on its strong management and robust financials. He also expressed hope that Exxon’s acquisition of XTO Energy (NYSE: XTO) would prove to be fruitful. His other picks include Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL) and Transocean (NYSE: RIG). He said that both these companies are financially very strong and are leaders in the deep-water space. He also said that the Natural gas sector also looks good as it is currently trading at a discount.
