Warren Buffett Doesn't Tweet Or Email: 'You Can Always Tell Someone To Go To Hell Tomorrow'

During a CNBC interview Monday, Buffett acknowledged that he doesn't use Twitter — even though he joined the social media platform on May 2, 2013.

His first tweet read, "Warren is in the house." Since then, he has tweeted a grand total of six other times, averaging out to less than one per year.

So why doesn't Buffett tweet more often?

For starters, Buffett acknowledged he doesn't use an iPhone despite owning billions of dollars worth of Apple Inc. AAPL. So, if he doesn't use products from companies in his portfolio, why would anyone expect him to use products from companies he doesn't own?

Buffett also offered another answer as to why he doesn't tweet: "You can always tell someone to go to hell tomorrow."

His answer likely refers to the real-time nature of the social media platform, but in reality, his response is one of his biggest pieces of advice. Specifically, the billionaire investor believes in taking a step back and cooling down before telling someone to go to hell — but if the feeling persists the next day, then tell them at that point.
