Anton Schutz, portfolio manager at Burnham Financial Industries Fund, shared his stock picks in an interview with CNBC.

Schutz said that the banking sector is a “generational opportunity now”. Schutz also said that the banking sectors valuations are very conservative, and that bank stocks are now selling at a deep discount from their previous price points. He said, “They’ll vastly outperform the S&P this year and I think they have a lot of low-hanging fruits here.”

Schutz also stated his preference for Citigroup (NYSE: C). However, Schutz advised investors to stay away from banks that are yet to repay TARP money.
