On Tuesday, Sonnenfeld was a guest on CNBC's "Squawk Box" segment on Tuesday to offer his expert take on what sort of leadership style President-elect Donald Trump will bring to the White House.
According to Sonnenfeld, Trump has done a great job at not surrounding himself with a team of "shrinking violets." In fact, his team consists of "very strong people," none of whom are deceptive, although some aren't necessarily popular choices.
Sonnenfeld continued that Trump's inner circle reveals he is doing exactly what he pledged to do during the campaign trail — hiring non-traditional politicians with impeccable business backgrounds to get the job done more efficiently compared to career politicians.
"I think these people are good at framing problems," he said. "I think they are very good at using clear metrics for accomplishments."
Sonnenfeld did, however, point out that the business community does have a major concern. Specifically, executives who were counting on improved relationships with Russia to support their business operations in the country will now face at the same time the prospect of deteriorating relationships with the more lucrative Chinese market given Trump's appointment of Peter Navarro and Wilbur Ross.
