On CNBC's Fast Money, Tim Seymour said that Select Sector Financial Slct Str SPDR Fd XLF is safe to buy on a day when the stocks are trading lower. He also likes Macy's, Inc. M and Occidental Petroleum Corporation OXY. These stocks haven't performed well in 2015, but they have a good balance sheet.

Dan Nathan thinks that it is a good idea to buy stocks of companies that are based in the US and that don't have an exposure to foreign exchange markets. He would also look for a good dividend yield. Nathan named Utilities SPDR (ETF) XLU, Pfizer Inc. PFE, AT&T Inc. T and Verizon Communications Inc. VZ as the stocks he would buy when the market is struggling.

Karen Finerman likes Whole Foods Market, Inc. WFM and she also thinks that there could be an opportunity in the financial space.
