CNBC's Pharmaceuticals Reporter Mike Huckman is speculating about a possible acquisition by Pfizer Inc.
(NYSE: PFE). He points out that Lipitor, a drug that is used for lowering blood cholesterol, is the most important drug for Pfizer (PFE). This drug is going generic next year and Pfizer (PFE) will need something to fill the gap.

Mike Huckman suggests that Pfizer (PFE) could make an acquisition to keep the revenue up. Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ: VRTX), Dendreon Corporation (NASDAQ: DNDN) and Human Genome Sciences
(NASDAQ: HGSI) could be possible targets for a takeover in his opinion.

Vertex (VRTX) added 0.32% today, Dandreon gained 1.08%, while Human Genome Sciences (HGSI) spiked 3.39%.
