Different From Operators

“We want to help people connect. And when we say that we mean something, I think, a little bit different from operators, in that we are not doing the actual digital connecting,” Zuckerberg explained.

A Year Of Travel

When Zuckerberg was asked what he learned from his visits to several countries in the past year, he replied, “I don't travel that much. So, this has been an interesting year [...] going around and meeting with partners and governments.

“And whenever I go to a new place, I try to also see how connectivity and using Facebook and all our apps specifically, as well, are impacting people.

“And the thing that's so striking to me is that the lengths that people will go to in order to get connectivity.”

Zuckerberg also gave examples from his visit to Indonesia and India to elaborate how the Internet is changing the world. Likewise, he expressed appreciation for the global efforts put into motion to get people throughout the world connected.
