chairman and CEO appeared on CNBC's Squawkbox this morning, giving some comments on the company's earnings report and New York city Mayor Bloomberg's campaign against obesity and his hard line against large fountain beverages.

Some highlights from his comments:

The answer (to obesity) is not to blame one product or category, but to work hand in hand with government and society to create a solution to the problem

There is a place for Coca-Cola in an active healthy diet, just like there is one for orange juice and milk

One thing he would like to see from the president in the state of the union tonight:

Commitment to solving the significant challenges ahead of the nation, namely our fiscal and monetary problems
