Buffett Does Not Believe Google's Driverless Cars Will Take Off
Warren Buffett has an opinion on Google's (NASDAQ: GOOG) ongoing experiment on driverless cars, and does not believe they will be part of the mainstream anytime soon.
Asked on CNBC's Squawk Box during his three-hour live interview, he indicated adding long positions on that trend was not one of his priorities.
"I am not so sure we will be comfortable being driven on driverless cars with the hundreds of millions of vehicles being added to our roads," indicating that the Sage of Omaha does not fully trust automated systems where human input may keep things on the right path.
Google's driverless car has been an active experiment for the last few years, and was pivoted from concerns of overcrowding of world's current infrastructure of roads. Unlike Buffet, Google believes a driverless cars will make traffic safer through interconnecting cars within single networks.
