Goldman's Blankfein: Makes Sense to Have Dual Chairman-CEO Role

In his interview on CNBC, Goldman's Blankfein stated that it made sense to have the chairman and CEO role combined due to regulation. He stated that the situation on corporate boards is halfway between having separate roles and the old concept of a dual chairman/ceo. Internally there are lots checks on responsibility and accountibility. Goldman Sachs says executives of many other companies, even competitors have Goldman Sachs alumni. He stated that Goldman had lots of terrific senior executives, and it was not limited to Gary Cohn. Blankfein stated he has no plans to leave the firm. He said he has no idea where people get his retirement plans from. He reiterated that he loves his position.
